Renting a car: helpful guide to get the most bang for your buck

For those who will be traveling this holiday season and may have to rent a car we have some helpful tips that will save money at the pump and make that vacation a more pleasant time.

1. Find nearby gas stations as you leave- The gas station closest to an airport usually knows that they are your Last Chance and they may price gouge accordingly. So look around, when you first leave, for a gas station where you can find a better price . Plan going to that station when you return and don’t wait until you have to return the car, as you may be in too much of a hurry to think about the gas price. Planning pays!!

2. Make fuel efficiency a priority when choosing a car. The difference between a car that gets 20 mpg car and one that gets 30 mpg can amount to a savings over the time you have the rental. So when you pick your car up it is probably a good idea to pick fuel efficiency over a fancy car.

To all those who will be traveling this holiday season please drive safely and have a wonderful time.
